KATHMANDU, Sept 13: Janata Samajbadi Party Nepal Chair Upendra Yadav has admitted that they made major mistakes in the past.

Speaking at a Madhesh Province-level gathering and orientation programme for party cadres organised by the Progressive Front in Janakpur on Saturday, Yadav said they had lost sight of their main goal because of their desire for political positions.

He said Madhesh-based parties and leaders had acknowledged their mistakes and would now unite to launch a final street movement. Yadav said another round of street protests would be launched after the Chhath festival.

Yadav also criticised the government, saying Prime Minister Balendra Shah had spoken about building a “developed Madhesh” but had forgotten his commitment to constitutional amendment even after more than six months in office.

He stressed that the national budget should be allocated on the basis of population and called for amendments to the Constitution.
