Woman dies of electrocution from electric trap set up by husband

She received an electric shock from a trap set up by her husband, Bhesh Raj Bhandari, at their farm, located around 150 meters away from their house, to prevent wild boars from entering the farm. The incident occurred at around 1:30 am on Wednesday.

GULMI, July 1: A woman died of electrocution after she was caught in an electric trap set up to keep away wild boars at Dhurkot Rural Municipality-5 of Gulmi district early Wednesday morning.



The deceased has been identified as Humkala Bhandari, 60, of Dhurkot-5, according to Superintendent of Police Bhim Kiran Bogati at the District Police Office, Gulmi.

Police said Humkala was taken to Gulmi Hospital for treatment, where doctors declared her dead.


She received an electric shock from a trap set up by her husband, Bhesh Raj Bhandari, at their farm, located around 150 meters away from their house, to prevent wild boars from entering the farm. The incident occurred at around 1:30 am on Wednesday.


Police have taken Bhesh Raj under control, and further investigation into the incident is underway.
