KATHMANDU, Dec 29: Yatra Lounge and Restro, located near the International Departure area of Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA), has opened as a new pre-flight space offering both dining and relaxation for travelers.
The facility, described as the first of its kind in Nepal, combines the comfort of a lounge with a full-service restaurant. Unlike most airport lounges, it is located before the boarding pass check, making it accessible to international passengers, their family members, airport staff and other visitors.

Drawing on more than 10 years of experience in airport hospitality, the owners said the lounge was designed based on travelers’ feedback and common needs such as a quiet environment, good food, clean restrooms, and comfortable seating. The lounge now offers clean toilets, shower facilities and a calm space for passengers to rest before flights.
The menu includes a range of options, with a focus on traditional Thakali cuisine, alongside international dishes such as Italian, Thai, and Chinese food. The management said a refreshed menu and a signature dish will be introduced soon.
Open 24 hours a day, Yatra Lounge and Restro employs nearly 40 staff members and follows standard procedures for hygiene and customer service. In addition to dining, the lounge offers private sleeping rooms, recliner chairs, massage chairs, and workspaces with Wi-Fi through affordable packages.
The lounge also plans to expand services for domestic travelers and introduce a help desk for first-time international visitors, providing information on transportation, local culture, and major destinations, according to the management.
Open to all, Yatra Lounge and Restro aims to provide a comfortable and peaceful space for travelers to relax, eat, or work before their journey.
