KATHMANDU, March 13: The government, in coordination with Nepal Airlines Corporation, has been conducting rescue flights to bring back Nepalis stranded in various countries in the Gulf (West Asia).

The same aircraft had earlier transported 260 passengers stranded at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu to Dubai.

Likewise, another rescue flight is scheduled for Friday, which will depart Kathmandu carrying 267 passengers to Dubai and return with 164 stranded Nepalis.

Several flights to and from the Gulf region were suspended after airspace over Iran and a few other Gulf countries were restricted on February 28, following joint air strikes by the United States and Israel on Iran, which have heightened tensions in the region. The government began rescue flights from Thursday after airspace in the region was partially opened.
