BAGMATI, Feb 6: The Inland Revenue Office in Hetauda collected revenue worth Rs 800.89 million in the last month.
During the first six months of the current fiscal year, the office collected a total revenue of Rs 3.27 billion. This is an increase of Rs 88.61 million compared to the revenue collected in the same period of the previous fiscal year.

According to the office, revenue collection in the first half of the fiscal year includes Rs 1.88 billion from excise duty, Rs 593.27 million from income tax, Rs 467.13 million from value-added tax (VAT), Rs 277.32 million from health risk tax, Rs 36.95 million from interest tax, and Rs 8.13 million from rent tax.
In the corresponding period of the previous fiscal year, the office had collected Rs 3.19 billion in revenue.
The Inland Revenue Office, Hetauda, has registered 33,596 income taxpayers, 5,849 VAT taxpayers, 1,598 excise taxpayers, 711 withholding taxpayers, and 81,812 individual taxpayers.
Office Chief Yukta Prasad Subedi said that around Rs 100 million in outstanding dues have been recovered by launching campaigns such as door-to-door follow-ups, telephone and SMS reminders to reluctant taxpayers, and awareness drives on tax exemption facilities.
