KATHMANDU, July 14: The 210th birth anniversary of Adhikavi (i.e. First Poet) Bhanu Bhakta Acharya is being commemorated across the country today.
The day is being marked by organizing various programs in schools, colleges and organizations working in language, literature and culture across the country.

Acharya, who is considered the first poet of the Nepali language, is highly honored for translating the epic, Valmiki’s Ramayan.
Born at Chundiramgha in Tanahun district on Asar 29, 1871 BS, the first Nepali poet contributed immensely to unite the country through language, literature and culture by offering various literary creations.
