KATHMANDU, June 17: Speaker DP Aryal on Wednesday objected to remarks made by lawmaker Chandra Mohan Yadav in the House of Representatives (HoR), saying the comments violated parliamentary rules.

Addressing the House, Aryal said his attention had been drawn to the words used by Yadav during his speech and reminded members to adhere to Rule 21 of the House of Representatives Regulations, 2026.

The Speaker's response came after Yadav questioned Aryal’s impartiality during the session. Addressing the Speaker, Yadav said, “Before assuming this dignified chair, you were affiliated with a political party. It appears you have still not been able to sever your ties with the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP).”

Yadav’s remarks prompted an immediate objection from RSP lawmaker Ganesh Karki, who raised a point of order under Rule 21(b) of the House of Representatives Regulations, arguing that the statement was inappropriate.

The exchange briefly stirred the House, with Aryal subsequently reminding members to maintain decorum and abide by parliamentary rules during deliberations.
