Pandey was suspended after reportedly preventing the Chief Administrative Officer of Kathmandu Metropolitan City, Saroj Guragain, from entering his office. Claiming the suspension was unlawful, Pandey had filed a writ petition challenging the decision, which has now been dismissed.

The Patan High Court had previously issued an interim order in the case.
