KATHMANDU, July 10: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) on Thursday jumped 25.89 points to close at 2,731.80 points.
The secondary market opened at 2,705.90 points and went to the day’s high at 2,742.77 points in one and half hours of trading. In the next half an hour, the index declined around 10 points while the market remained almost stable in the remaining period before it closed for the day.
Nepse up for a fifth consecutive week
Two groups ‘trading’ and hydropower shed 22.48 points and 7.92 points, respectively. Of the 11 gainers, the microfinance index added the highest of 71.20 points.
The sensitive index, which measures the performance of ‘A’ class companies, increased a notable 7.55 points. The daily turnover amount escalated to Rs 9.68 billion from Rs 7.45 billion on Wednesday.
Among the individual companies, 161 were gainers while 87 were recorded as the losers. NRN Infrastructure and Development Limited had the largest turnover of its shares worth Rs 570.57 million.
Mai Khola Hydropower Limited gained the largest of 8.15 percent of its market value. Corporate Development Bank Limited with a decline of 9.92 percent was recorded as the highest loser.
