The move is expected to transform Geta Hospital into a key center for medical education, clinical training and research, while also expanding access to specialized healthcare services and helping produce skilled health professionals.
Built with the vision of improving access to quality healthcare and medical education in Sudurpashchim, Geta Hospital had remained underutilized for years despite its modern infrastructure. Successive governments had initiated policy discussions and made several decisions to convert it into a teaching hospital, but the plan had yet to be fully implemented.
With the latest Cabinet approval, the government is expected to move ahead with establishing the hospital's institutional framework, launching academic programs and recruiting the necessary faculty and medical personnel, bringing the long-awaited project a step closer to full operation.
