Madhesh Province collects revenue of Rs 30.17 billion in 11 months

KATHMANDU, June 20: The Madhesh Province government collected revenue worth Rs 30.17 billion in 11 months of the current Fiscal Year (FY).
According to the Ministry of Finance of the provincial government, the internal revenue collection reached Rs 4.59 billion. The main sources of internal revenue collection were real estate transactions and vehicle tax. During the review period, Rs 1.18 billion was collected from real estate registration and Rs 2.01 billion from vehicle tax.
Likewise, revenue of Rs 688.27 million was collected from the distribution of driver's licenses and vehicle registration fees, Rs 111.05 million. The provincial government received Rs 7.75 billion from the value-added tax and Rs 2.77 billion from excise duty.
Similarly, Rs 7.06 billion was received under the equalization grant from the federal government. A total of Rs 2.17 billion under the conditional grant of recurrent, and Rs 1.56 billion under the conditional grant of capital headings were received by the provincial government during the 11-month period.
