While the families of seven students had already received the assistance last year, Joshi’s condition had remained unknown at the time. Israeli authorities confirmed his death only on October 13 this year.
On October 7, 2023, ten Nepali students from Sudurpaschim University, who were in Israel under the “Learn and Earn” program, were killed in a Hamas attack. Joshi, who had been missing since the incident, was recently confirmed dead after Israeli authorities identified his remains.
Chief Minister Shah expressed condolences to Joshi’s family, stating that the provincial government stands in solidarity with them during this time of loss.
Meanwhile, the body of Joshi, repatriated from Israel to Kathmandu, is being flown to Dhangadhi by a Nepali Army aircraft. The army has arranged to take the body to his home in Kanchanpur from Dhangadhi.
