DARCHULA, Jan 10: Voters from Chhangru and Tinkar, two settlements of Vyans Rural Municipality–1 in Darchula, will cast their ballots in Khalanga for the upcoming House of Representatives (HoR) elections scheduled for March 5.
Chief District Officer Anil Paudel said residents of both villages have temporarily migrated to Khalanga due to harsh winter conditions, prompting authorities to establish polling centres in the district headquarters. Locals typically relocate to Khalanga for about six months during winter to escape extreme cold in Chhangru and Tinkar.
During the local level elections held in 2079 BS (2022), polling stations had been set up in Chhangru and Tinkar.
