The Department of Roads has selected China-based Yuxin-ART JV to manage and operate the tunnel, which was built with support from the Japan International Cooperation Agency.

The RSP has urged those appointed through political decisions to step down.  

According to the DUDBC, work is underway to install chairs, microphones and a sound system in the hall. The HoR has 275 members, and an additional 25 chairs will be placed in the hall. A podium has also been prepared, with a separate chair for the Speaker.

A party must cross the 3 percent threshold in PR votes and win at least one FPTP seat to be recognized as a national party. However, parties that do not win an FPTP seat can still secure PR seats as long as they achieve the 3 percent minimum in PR votes.

The Department of Roads (DoR) is preparing to bring the tunnel into commercial operation by mid-June, after selecting a service provider to manage and operate the project. Although construction is almost complete, the tunnel has yet to open due to various administrative and technical reasons.

After Thursday’s House of Representatives election, the government is obliged to have the hall ready before convening the first session under any circumstances. The Ministry of Urban Development has assigned this responsibility to the Building Construction Department.
