Bagmati govt raises Rs 27.93 billion revenue in nine months of current FY

BAGMATI, April 18: The Bagmati province government has collected public revenue amounting to Rs 27.93 billion (41.40 percent of the annual target) in the nine months of the current fiscal year. 



House and land registration (Land Revenue) and vehicle tax are considered the main sources of revenue collection for the provincial government. Including both headings, Though the target was to raise revenue of Rs 30.89 billion 11.189 million from Shrawan (mid-July 2025) to Chaitra (mid-April 2026) of fiscal year 2082/83, only 55.07 percent of the target, amounting to Rs 17.01 billion 2.26 million, has been collected, according to Indraraj Sanjyal, Officer of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Planning Development of Bagmati Province.

According to him, the target for revenue collection from house and land registration in the current fiscal year 2082/83 was Rs 7.70 billion, but only Rs 3.52 billion has been collected in nine months. 


Similarly, the provincial government estimated Rs 8.25 billion from vehicle tax under vehicle inspection passes, route permits, issuance and renewal of driving licences for fiscal year 2082/83, whereas Rs 5.06 billion has been collected.
