KATHMANDU, July 18: The Birgunj Customs Office (BCO) collected customs revenue of Rs 243.82 billion in the Fiscal Year (FY) 2025/26.
The BCO’s Information Officer Uday Singh Bista informed that the customs office met 89.19 percent of the annual target set for the last FY. The office had set a target of contributing Rs 273.37 billion in the state treasury for the review period.
Birgunj customs mobilizes Rs 161 billion in revenue
The Department of Customs set a target of collecting public revenue of Rs 588.25 billion from all customs offices across the country in the last FY. The BCO’s shared 41.45 percent of the overall targets.
The BCO started the FY by collecting Rs 18.44 billion in revenue in the first month. The largest amount of revenue, Rs 22.82 billion, was generated over a month between mid-March and mid-April.
