KATHMANDU, May 2: Nepali Congress (NC) leader Chandra Bhandari has said that citizens and children—the bearers of the future—must be the state’s top priority, stressing that a country becomes strong and secure only when they are placed at the center of governance.

“Citizens who are outside the state’s vision and children who carry the future must be the state’s first priority. Only then can the nation become strong and secure,” taking to social media.

Bhandari noted that, in line with the aspirations of the people and the demands of the time, the younger generation is eager to move forward at rocket speed. However, he warned that deep-rooted distortions and anomalies in society could lead to serious consequences during attempts at reform.

“The youth, driven by the energy of leadership, public expectations and the demands of the time, want to move forward at rocket speed. But distortions and anomalies are severe—there could be chaos in the process of cleansing them.”

He further argued that the problem lies not in energy but in direction and consciousness, stating that real change is not possible without addressing the root causes. Commenting on the idea that “sometimes untruth must be used for truth,” he questioned its intent, adding, “For whom? The answer is clear: for humanity.”
