KATHMANDU, April 22: A partial influence of westerly and local winds is currently affecting Nepal, bringing mixed weather conditions across the country.

Cloud cover has developed over the hilly regions of Koshi Province and parts of the high mountains, while most other areas are seeing largely clear skies. According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, light rainfall is occurring at one or two locations in Koshi Province.
Forecasts for Wednesday indicate generally cloudy conditions in the high mountainous regions of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces. Partial cloud cover is expected over the hilly areas of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Karnali, while the rest of the country will remain mostly clear.
Some places in the high mountains and hills of Koshi Province, as well as the high mountains of Bagmati and Gandaki, may experience light to moderate rain or snowfall accompanied by thunder and lightning.
Meanwhile, hot conditions are likely to prevail across the Tarai regions of the Madhes Province and parts of Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Sudurpaschim, including valleys and low-lying areas. A heatwave is also possible in parts of the Tarai in Lumbini and Sudurpaschim provinces.
By Wednesday night, partial cloud cover will persist over the high mountains and hills of Koshi Province and the high mountains of Bagmati and Gandaki. Weather in the remaining mountainous, hilly, and Tarai regions is expected to stay mostly clear. There is a chance of light rain or snowfall at one or two locations in the high mountainous areas of the Koshi Province.
