Devotees without living mothers visit the sacred site early in the morning to take a ritual bath and offer prayers at the shrine of Harihar (Bishnu and Shiva). There is a widespread belief that bathing in the Matatirtha pond brings peace to the souls of deceased mothers.

Within the temple premises, a statue titled “Sajha Aama” (Shared Mother), symbolizing all mothers, sculpted by artist Ramkrishna Bhandari, has also been installed. Every year, people who have lost their mothers observe the occasion by visiting the site, bathing in the pond, and offering sweet delicacies as part of Mother’s Day observances.

Local social organizations, including the Matatirtha Fair Management Committee, have been mobilized to manage the crowd and organize the fair smoothly.
