KATHMANDU, Aug 6: Daily turnover at the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) fell to one-month low at Rs 7.63 billion on Wednesday.
Earlier, the transaction volume was recorded at Rs 6.85 billion on July 1 this year. Over the period, the daily turnover amount surged as high as Rs 25.96 billion on July 27.
Meanwhile, the secondary market slid 1.94 points down to close at 2,832.06 points on Wednesday. The market opened at 2,833.57 points and hit the day’s low at 2,827.99 points in the first 44 minutes.

However, the market bounced back to reach the day’s high at 2,856.41 points when the trading time was one hour and 15 minutes left. The index declined by around 24 points in the remaining time before the market closed for the day.
Three groups were the gainers, with the microfinance index inclined by the largest of 75.85 points. Out of the nine losers, the life insurance index declined 61.30 points, the highest of all.
The sensitive index which measures the performance of ‘A’ class companies also declined 0.89 points.
Among the individual companies, 112 were gainers while 138 were recorded as losers. Ngadi Group Power witnessed the largest turnover of its shares worth Rs 294.55 million.
Three Star Hydropower Limited with a decline of 3.78 points was the topmost loser. Wean Nepal Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited was recorded as the topmost gainer in the intraday trading.
