According to the Rasuwa Customs Office, imports from Kerung have yet to resume after the election and around 100 to 150 empty containers have already headed toward Kerung to bring goods.

The Syafrubesi–Rasuwagadhi road is scheduled to be closed from April 1 to April 15 for upgrading works. Bhattarai warned that containers sent to collect goods may be stranded on the Chinese side if they fail to return before the closure.

This period typically sees imports of summer goods from China. Before the election, more than 30 containers of goods were entering Nepal daily through the Kerung checkpoint.
