KATHMANDU, April 17: A technical training on the mechanism, safety and maintenance of hybrid vehicles was held in Kathmandu on Thursday under the coordination of the Nepal Automobile Importers and Manufacturers Association (NAIMA), according to a press release.
The training was conducted at the central office with technical support from United Traders Syndicate Pvt Ltd, the authorized distributor of Toyota for Nepal. More than 25 participants, including fifth-semester diploma students from Balaju School of Engineering and Technology under the Council for Technical Education and Vocational Training (CTEVT) and traffic personnel, took part in the program.

Participants gained important theoretical knowledge and practical skills related to hybrid vehicle technology, including its mechanism, safety and maintenance, according to the release.
They had earlier attended a three-day training on electric vehicle systems at Laxmi Hyundai and also participated in a NAIMA mobility dialogue focused on hybrid technology, gaining further policy and technical insights.
NAIMA said the training aims to strengthen participants’ technical capacity by integrating knowledge from electric to hybrid vehicle technologies.
Speaking at the programme, NAIMA Executive Director Raj Kumar Dulal said such initiatives would support technical education and skill development. CTEVT Deputy Director Khushiram Adhikari said hybrid vehicle-related topics would be prioritized in the curriculum, noting their growing relevance in Nepal, the statement reads.
Other speakers stressed the need to strengthen collaboration between the automobile industry and technical institutions to produce skilled manpower, while highlighting the importance of developing expertise in hybrid vehicle technology.
