KMC to build box culverts in Bagbazar and Babarmahal to reduce flood risks

Kathmandu Metropolitan City has announced plans to construct box culverts in Bagbazar and Babarmahal as part of efforts to mitigate flooding and erosion in the areas.

KATHMANDU, Jan 31: Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has announced plans to construct box culverts in Bagbazar and Babarmahal as part of efforts to mitigate flooding and erosion in the areas.



According to KMC Sub-Engineer Deepak Bahadur Shahi, a box culvert will be built over the Tukucha stream near Bagbazar under a contract worth Rs 5.77 million, with construction scheduled to be completed by mid-April.

Similarly, another box culvert will be constructed near Rosebud School along the Dhobikhola corridor in Babarmahal at a cost of Rs 22.12 million. The project is expected to be completed by the end of Poush, with contracts already signed with the construction company.
