KATHMANDU, Feb 12: Nepal has set a modest target of 124 runs for Italy in a crucial match of Group ‘C’ under the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.
Nepal was invited to bat first after losing the toss at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. The team scored 123 runs in 19.3 overs, losing all their wickets.

Although Nepal had an aggressive start, the Nepali batsmen failed to convert it into a big score. Even though opener Kushal Bhurtel was out for 5 runs, the captain Rohit Poudel and Asif Sheikh tried to control the innings.
Captain Rohit played an explosive innings of 23 runs in just 14 balls, including 2 sixes. Similarly, another opener Asif Sheikh scored 20 runs.
In the middle order, Arif Sheikh scored the highest 27 runs to take Nepal past the 100-run mark.
Dipendra Singh Airi contributed 17 runs. However, Nepal, which was in a strong position of 93/3 in 13.4 overs, scored the next 30 runs at the cost of seven wickets. Towards the end, Karan KC scored 18 runs off 11 balls to help Nepal reach 120. Lokesh Bam (3), Gulshan Jha (3), Nandan Yadav (0) and Lalit Rajbanshi (0) failed to reach double figures while Sandeep Lamichhane was dismissed for 5 runs.
