KATHMANDU, April 30: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) on Thursday shed 5.73 points to close at 2,738.72 points.
The secondary market that opened at 2,744.45 points went into a straight fall and hit the day’s low at 2,708.94 points in 22 minutes of trading. The market however gained momentum and reached the day’s high at 2,745.55 points in the next two hours. Going through nominal fluctuations, the market was corrected by around seven points in the remaining period before it closed for the day.

Manufacturing and processing, and banking were the only two sectors registered as gainers, as these groups added 96.12 points and 0.31 points, respectively. Of the 11 losers, life insurance declined 32.86 points, the largest of all.
The sensitive index, which measures the performance of ‘A’ class companies, also went down 0.07 points. Daily turnover fell to Rs 4.91 billion from Rs 4.98 billion.
Among the individual companies, 98 were the gainers as 161 lost their charms for the investors. Reliance Spinning Mills Limited had the largest turnover of its shares worth Rs 267.56 million.
Corporate Development Bank Limited witnessed a decline of 10.38 percent in its market value and was recorded as the highest loser. Shreenagar Agritech Industries Limited stood as the topmost gainer of 12.57 percent.
