KATHMANDU, April 21: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) on Tuesday plunged 17.91 points to close at 2,807.31 points.
The secondary market opened at 2,825.23 points and inclined by 13 points in the pre-opening session. The market came to as low as 2,823.08 points and went through nominal fluctuations in the first three hours. The market reached the day’s low at 2,797.84 points in the last three minutes. The market recovered around 10 points in the remaining period before it closed for the day.

Hotels and tourism by adding 97.08 points was the only gainer. Of the 12 losers, non-life insurance dropped by the largest of 96.31 points.
The sensitive index which measures the performance of ‘A’ class companies also declined 3.07 points. Daily turnover increased marginally by Rs 5.77 billion from Rs 5.43 billion.
Among the individual companies, 48 were the gainers and 215 were the losers. Solu Hydropower Limited had the largest turnover of its shares worth Rs 370.73 million.
Dolti Power Company Limited with a decline of 8.71 percent in its market value was recorded as the highest loser. Two companies including Suryakunda Hydro Electric Limited and Palpa Cement Industries Limited were topmost gainers of 15 percent.
