GANDAKI, Feb 28: Night-time businesses have been prohibited in Kaski beginning on Monday in view of the sensitivity of the election to the member of the House of Representatives (HoR).

According to the District Administration Office (DAO), hotels, restaurants, dohori sanjh (entertainment clubs featuring folk duet songs), dance bars and beverage shops will be allowed to open until 9:00 PM. The order shall remain in force until further public notice.

The DAO has appealed to one and all to cooperate in ensuring peace, security and social goodwill during the election period. It is said that violation of the order and the rule of law is punishable by law.

Likewise, the DAO has called for decent celebrations during the Holi festival, which falls around the major election period.

In addition, it has discouraged the organisation of any sort of festival and musical programmes creating crowds on roadways and in public places, bearing in mind the election security sensitivity and the code of conduct.

No one is allowed to host an event targeting the Holi festival, it has been said. Everyone has been urged to observe the festival among their families in a decent and civilised manner.
