KATHMANDU, Jan 16: The election of office bearers of the Nepal Medical Association (NMA) has been postponed following an interim order issued by the Patan High Court.
In a statement issued on Friday, the NMA said the election, which had been scheduled earlier, was deferred in compliance with the court’s order. Chief Election Officer Dr Pranayaratna Shakya said the election committee would soon issue a fresh notice announcing a revised election schedule.

Earlier, the Patan High Court halted the election process in response to a writ petition filed by Dr Ajay Kumar Mishra, preventing the polls from proceeding as planned.
