KATHMANDU, April 25: Non-life insurance companies collected premiums worth Rs 36.58 billion in nine months of the current Fiscal Year (FY).
According to the Nepal Insurance Authority (NIA), 14 non-life insurers collected the aforementioned amount in premium by selling more than 2.2 million policies in the review period. Last month alone, the insurers issued 347,872 policies and earned a premium of Rs 5.04 billion.

Shikhar Insurance led among individual companies, by selling 238,667 policies. The company secured earnings of Rs 4.80 billion. Sagarmatha Lumbini Insurance was in second place, by collecting a premium of Rs 3.83 billion from selling 201,838 units of policies.
