KATHMANDU, Dec 19: A group involved in a clash in a Dohori Sanjh attacked and killed a pedestrian in Gongabu. Among two groups that had clashed during the event, one group attacked Babin Gurung, who was walking along the street.
The 20-year deceased was a resident of Siranchok Rural Municipality–7, Gorkha, and lived in Tokha Municipality–9, Gongabu. During the altercation, Harisharan Pant reportedly struck Babin with a sharp weapon.
Nawalparasi wins Dohori competition
Pant was arrested by Kathmandu police early Wednesday morning. Pant hails from Netrawati Dabjong, Dhading. Police also arrested Shreekrishna Pant from the same area.
Police investigations revealed that the conflict involved the two local groups along with Birendra Saud from Dadeldhura and Janak Singh Nagari from Darchula.
Police stated that six people, including the dohori sanjh organizers, have been arrested and are under investigation.
