President returns Constitutional Council Ordinance for reconsideration

According to a statement issued on Sunday by Presidential Office spokesperson Ritesh Kumar Shakya, the ordinance had been recommended by the Cabinet following its decision on April 27.

KATHMANDU, May 3: President Ram Chandra Paudel has returned the government-recommended Constitutional Council (Functions, Duties, Powers and Procedures) (First Amendment) Ordinance, 2026 to the government for reconsideration.



According to a statement issued on Sunday by Presidential Office spokesperson Ritesh Kumar Shakya, the ordinance had been recommended by the Cabinet following its decision on April 27.

The statement said the President decided to send the ordinance back after determining that its contents required further review and reconsideration by the government.
