Most of these leaders were active in the convention supporting the Ishwar Pokharel faction. However, some leaders considered close to Oli, including Bishnu and Neeraj, were also left out of the ticket list.
At a party secretariat meeting, dissatisfaction was expressed over the selection process, with complaints that proper standards were not applied. Leader Ushakiran Timilsina wrote, “Action against Thakur Gaire is sinful, comrade Bishnu. (I don’t believe in sin or religion.)”
Deputy General Secretary Yogesh Bhattarai posted on social media, “Dear comrades of CPN-UML, I request you not to be disheartened by the decisions. I call on everyone to stay active in their capacity to ensure the victory of UML candidates with higher morale and unity. Our journey is long and glorious.”
In some areas, candidate selection is still pending, so it is expected that more names will be included.
