Public transport fares hiked again

KATHMANDU, April 29: The government has once again increased fares for inter-provincial public transport, affecting both passenger and cargo vehicles.



In a notice issued on Wednesday, the Department of Transport Management (DoTM) said fares have been raised by 5 percent.

According to the DoTM, the new rates were implemented with the approval of the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport, citing the recent rise in fuel prices.


The latest revision comes just weeks after the government last adjusted public transport fares on April 8.
