DANG, Feb 26: A section of the Damodar road in Tulsipur Sub-Metropolitan City–14, Jitpur, which connects all three constituencies of Dang district, has remained unpaved for the past five years.
The road links Constituency No. 2 at Bhaisipatra in Ghorahi–Tulsipur–8 and Constituency No. 1 at Dangigaun in Ghorahi–5. Ghorahi–8 falls under Constituency No. 2, while Ghorahi–5 lies in Constituency No. 1. Tulsipur Sub-Metropolitan City–14 falls under Constituency No. 3. Despite connecting all three constituencies and being considered a pride project of Dang, the Damodar road section has remained incomplete due to the failure to blacktop it for five years.

The road connects Ghorahi to Hapur in Babai Rural Municipality. Although gravel was laid on the Damodar section more than five years ago in preparation for blacktopping, the work has yet to be completed and upgraded.
Locals said that blacktopping has been carried out up to Nainwar in Ghorahi. However, road upgrading has not been completed along an 18-kilometer stretch including Jitpur of Tulsipur–14, said local resident Narayan Khadka.
“While blacktopping has been done in surrounding areas, the section within our ward has been left incomplete. Work has progressed toward Urhari in Tulsipur–11 instead, causing difficulties in transportation for local residents,” he said.
Khadka said locals feel neglected as road upgrading has not taken place in the Jitpur area despite improvements elsewhere. The Damodar road is also considered an alternative route connecting western Dang. Once completed, it would facilitate the transportation of local produce to markets, he added.
