KATHMANDU, March 9: Chairman of the ruling CPN (Unified Socialist) Madhav Kumar Nepal has claimed that an agreement has been reached between the ruling parties to contest the local elections together.
Speaking at a meeting of the party's central committee that started in Kathmandu today, Chairman Nepal said that an agreement has been reached between the ruling parties to go ahead with the preparations for the local elections.

He also called on the entire party to get mobilized for the local elections by analyzing how to take mutual benefit even if it is not possible in every place. Chairman Nepal also clarified that the focus of the entire party will now be on the local level elections.
He said that the ongoing central committee meeting should take important decisions to formulate necessary organizational plans. Referring to the UML, Chairman Nepal also instructed the party leaders and cadres to prepare for the upcoming election by showing that those who have the illusion of being strong are weak.
Stating that his party had twice won the election by competing with the UML, Chairman Nepal reiterated his plan to move forward by doing the same. He recalled that his party defeated KP Oli in the National Assembly election by joining hands with the ruling coalition.
