KATHMANDU, Dec 24: An investigation commission formed to probe the Gen-Z incident has lifted the foreign travel and movement restrictions imposed on three senior former officials.
The restrictions on former Home Secretary Gokarna Mani Duwadi, former Inspector General of Police Chandra Kuber Khapung, and Kathmandu Chief District Officer Chhabilal Rijal—which barred them from traveling abroad and from leaving the Kathmandu Valley without the commission’s approval—were revoked by a decision taken on Monday.

The commission’s secretariat informed the Ministry of Home Affairs through a letter on Tuesday that the restrictions imposed during the investigation had been lifted.
According to Under Secretary Kamal Prasad Pandey of the commission, the investigation and questioning of the three officials have been completed.
The commission had earlier imposed the restrictions through its meetings held on September 28 and November 13 while investigating incidents that occurred on September 8 and 9. The decision to lift the restrictions was taken during the commission’s meeting on Monday.
The commission has also informed the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Police Headquarters, and the concerned individuals about the decision.
