Two firms fined for violating business code

During the market monitoring, the West Shopping Centre located at Thamel and the Kantipur Café at Tribhuvan International Airport each was fined Rs 205 thousand, while the Goodluck Trekking Shop of Thamel was directed to appear at the Department with business documents.

KATHMANDU, April 28: The Department of Commerce, Supply and Consumers' Protection has fined two firms for violating business code. The enterprises were fined in line with Consumers Protection Act, 2075 and the Consumers' Protection Regulation, 2076 after they flouted the rule of fair business.



During the market monitoring, the West Shopping Centre located at Thamel and the Kantipur Café at Tribhuvan International Airport each was fined Rs 205 thousand, while the Goodluck Trekking Shop of Thamel was directed to appear at the Department with business documents.

Forty-three other firms were asked to improve business practice. The market monitoring was conducted by the Department team that also comprised rights defenders and concerned stakeholders.  The Department has continued market monitoring for long.
