At a time when 132 kV transmission lines have yet to reach several districts in Nepal, the operation of high-capacity substations at two locations in Gulmi is considered a positive development in terms of energy infrastructure expansion.
According to the Nepal Electricity Authority, with the operation of the new 132 kV substations, reliable electricity supply has been ensured in the district in the long term.
Earlier, due to outdated and limited-capacity infrastructure, there were frequent problems of line tripping, voltage fluctuations, and irregular supply. Now, the 132 kV transmission line has been extended from Motipur in Kapilvastu through Arghakhanchi to Unaichaur and Paudi Amarai, reaching Burtibang.
The Tamghas–Burtibang substation was inspected and inaugurated last Tuesday by Hitendra Dev Shakya, Managing Director of the Nepal Electricity Authority.
