“Names of candidates for the upcoming election have come from all districts via provincial committees,” he said. “Some constituencies have recommended a single candidate, while others have sent more than one name. We will soon finalize the candidates for each constituency.”

The UML had instructed committees to recommend at least three names, including one woman. According to Bhattarai, some district committees have sent more than three names from certain constituencies.

The schedule for filing nominations for the election is set for January 20, he added.
