TANAHUN, Dec 20: Police arrested a 19-year-old youth with a country-made pistol during a routine vehicle check at Benitar in Abukhaireni Rural Municipality–4 of Tanahun on Friday morning.
According to police, the arrested individual has been identified as Om Babu Prasad Yadav, a resident of Suwarna Rural Municipality–1 in Bara.
Man arrested with pistol in Dhangadhi
Yadav was taken into custody at around 3:10 AM while police were conducting a vehicle inspection. He was found carrying the pistol in his bag while traveling on the bus that was heading to Pokhara from Kalaiya, Bara. The bus had the registration number Ga 2 Kha 275.
District Police Office, Tanahun, Chief Superintendent of Police Tek Bahadur Karki said the arrest was made during a check along the Narayanghat–Muglin section of the Prithvi Highway. The suspect has been taken to the Area Police Office, Anbookhaireni, for further investigation.
Police teams deployed from the temporary police post near the Muglin Bridge have intensified vehicle checks along the highway in recent days.
