23 election candidates take permission for opening bank accounts in Lalitpur

The permission was granted by the District Election Office, Lalitpur. The voting under the HoR polls is taking place on March 5.

LALITPUR, Feb 16: Nearly two dozen candidates out of total 71 for the election to the House of Representatives (HoR) in Lalitpur district have taken permission for opening bank accounts. There are three electoral constituencies. 



The permission was granted by the District Election Office, Lalitpur.  The voting under the HoR polls is taking place on March 5.

According to the Office's election officer Samita Basnet, such a number of electoral candidates are from various political parties and independents as well. 


The Election Commission (EC) has already issued the 'House of Representatives Members Election Publicity Bank Account Operation and Management Procedure, 2082 BS'. As per the procedure, every political party and election candidate is required to have a separate bank account to make expenditures for the election publicity campaign.  


There are 28 electoral candidates: 12 independent, 25 males and three females from Lalitpur-1; 23: seven independent and 16 from various political parties from Lalitur-2 that have two women candidates. 


The total number of candidates from Lalitpur-3 stands at 20. Though 23 had registered the candidacy from the constituency, three had later withdrawn the candidacies.
