KATHMANDU, April 12: The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) has handed a one-match suspension to national team cricketer Karan KC for making a derogatory comment about an umpire during the ongoing Prime Minister Cup.

The action follows a formal complaint lodged by the umpires and scorers’ association, which demanded disciplinary measures against the player.

Karan later apologized, stating that the comment was made in jest. However, CAN proceeded with the sanction, suspending him for one match and imposing a fine equivalent to 100 percent of his match fee.

Karan KC is currently representing Nepal Police Club in the ongoing Prime Minister Cup cricket tournament.
