KATHMANDU, May 4: The Bagmati provincial government has launched a new initiative to promote ecotourism in four major national parks, aiming to strengthen sustainable tourism and conservation-based travel in the region.
According to the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, preparations are underway to develop ecotourism infrastructure and tourism promotion activities in Langtang National Park, Shivapuri Nagarjun National Park, Chitwan National Park and Parsa National Park.

Ministry Secretary Dipendra Subedi said the selected parks hold strong potential for biodiversity conservation, wildlife observation, trekking and environmentally sustainable tourism activities.
He said that the province is working to build a long-term foundation for nature-based tourism while balancing ecological preservation and local economic opportunities.
The ministry said groundwork for tourism development in all four protected areas has already begun as part of the province’s broader sustainable tourism strategy.
