KATHMANDU, May 13: Nepali Congress (NC) lawmaker Nishkal Rai has said Prime Minister Balendra Shah’s exit from the Federal Parliament while the government’s policy and programme was being presented on Monday undermined the dignity of Parliament.

Speaking during the zero hour of the House of Representatives (HoR) on Wednesday, Rai urged the Speaker to issue a ruling directing the Prime Minister to attend Parliament.

“Even today, the Prime Minister is absent from Parliament. Questions have also been raised in the House regarding his health condition. The dignity of Parliament is not upheld when the Prime Minister remains absent,” Rai said during the session.

He further described Prime Minister Shah’s conduct in the HoR as “unconstitutional and apolitical.”
