Following the collapse, a truck (Pra 03-001 Kha 2920) fell into the Arun River along the Num–Seduwa road section. The driver, 40-year-old Arjun Shrestha of Barhabise Municipality–9, Sindhupalchok, was seriously injured in the incident.
The injured driver received initial treatment at the primary health centre in Num and preparations are underway to airlift him to Kathmandu for further treatment.
The truck was transporting construction materials for the under-construction Kasuwa Hydropower Project when the bridge collapsed. The Num–Seduwa road section has been completely obstructed since the incident, halting transportation in the area.
The route serves as an access point for travelers heading to Makalu Base Camp. The bridge collapse has directly affected local residents, tourists, and the transportation of daily essentials.
Authorities said coordination is underway to repair the bridge and arrange an alternative route. Discussions are ongoing, particularly with the Kasuwa Hydropower Project, regarding maintenance and restoration work.
