Border security units from Nepal and China take stock of border pillars at Bhotkhola

The joint team consisting of 11 personnel led by In-charge Nabin Khatiwada of the Armed Police Force Border Security Post Kimathanka, seven Chinese police personnel under the command of DSP Dawa Chhiring of China's Xijang autonomous region, and five from the Nepal Police, has inspected various border pillars.

KIMATHANKA, Jan 1: The border security police from Nepal and China have conducted a joint inspection of the border pillars along the Nepal–China border in Bhotkhola Rural Municipality-1, Kimathanka, the northern region of Sankhuwasabha district.



A joint team of the Armed Police Force Nepal, Number 4 Arun Company Chainpur, Kimathanka BOP, the Chinese police, and Nepal police inspected the four border pillars along the Nepal-China border at the Kimathanka checkpoint, said Deputy Superintendent of Police Baburam Paudel of the Armed Police Force Nepal, Number 4 Arun Company Chainpur.


Deputy Superintendent Paudel said that the joint security team inspected boundary pillars numbers 67, 68/2, 69/1 and 69/2 and the condition of the border at the Kimathanka checkpoint. The joint team also inspected the status of local settlements and the condition of boundary markers.

Bhotkhola Rural Municipality's Wards 1, 2 and 3 border with Chinese territory. There are 21 boundary pillars along the Nepal-China frontier in Sankhuwasabha district. It is said that the Nepal-China international boundary pillar at Kimathanka is missing. The floods in June swept away the 71/1 boundary pillar, making it disappear.


The Armed Police Force border security outpost or BOP was established at the Kimathanka checkpoint in 2019.
