KATHMANDU,June 29: Standing Committee Member of Communist Party of Nepal Bhim Rawal has condemned the government’s decision to contribute Rs 1 billion for the popular Indian award ‘International Indian Film Academy Award (IIFA)’.
Rawal has also expressed his strong disapproval of the decision made by Kathmandu Metropolitan City to contribute about Rs half a billion for IIFA ceremony.

‘Who is behind the government’s such a decision? “The answer would be known if the meeting of the standing committee was held?”, tweeted Rawal.

Nepal Tourism Board and Kathmandu Metropolitan City will serve as an organizer and a co-organizer of the award ceremony respectively.
The government has defended its decision saying that it made the decision to this effect with Visit Nepal 2020 in mind.
