KATHMANDU, Feb 9: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) on Monday plummeted 26.05 points to close at 2,672.39 points.
The secondary market opened at 2,698.44 points, reaching the day’s high at 2,702.42 points in the first one minute. The market then fell gradually and hit the day’s low at 2,665.85 points in the last six minutes, while the market recovered around seven points in the remaining time before it closed for the day.

Trading was the only sector that gained 9.01 points. Of the 12 losers, non-life insurance plunged by the largest of 159.17 points. Life insurance, manufacturing and processing, and hotels and tourism also lost three-digit points.
The sensitive index which measures the performance of ‘A’ class companies decreased 4.02 points. The daily turnover decreased to Rs 10.77 billion from Rs 11.65 billion.
Among the individual companies, 42 were gainers while 212 were recorded as losers. Ridi Power Company Limited had the largest turnover of its shares worth Rs 771.91 million.
Maya Khola Hydropower Company Limited dropped by the highest of 5.40 percent. Khanikhola Hydropower Co Ltd increased by the highest of 9.97 percent.
