KATHMANDU, May 5: Janamat Party has decided to withdraw from the Madhesh provincial government.
The decision was taken by a majority vote during the party’s parliamentary meeting held on April 24, following which the party formally exited the provincial government.
The party said the move was taken in the interest of both the organization and the public. According to the secretariat of party Chair CK Raut, dissatisfaction had been growing among party workers and the general public at the district level due to the functioning style of the provincial government.

The party claimed that no work had been carried out in line with its “vision” or public interest. It also said repeated suggestions and requests for reforms made over the past five months had gone unaddressed.
“Not a single project aligned with the party’s vision and public interest has been effectively implemented under the current Madhesh government,” the secretariat said in a statement. “We have repeatedly urged improvements over the past five months, but there has been no response.”
It further stated that more than 70 flagship projects initiated under the party’s vision remain stalled. The party also raised concerns over disputes related to user committees, arguing that all projects should be executed through a tender process, which it said was also ignored.
The statement added that dissatisfaction among party cadres and the public had been increasing across districts due to the government’s working style.
The party concluded that continuing in the government was no longer appropriate amid a lack of progress and ongoing irregularities.
