KATHMANDU, April 17 : The India-Nepal Think Tank Summit, held in New Delhi from April 2–5, brought together experts from both countries to discuss ways to deepen cooperation in energy, trade, tourism and digital connectivity, the Asian Institute of Diplomacy and International Affairs (AIDIA) said in a press release.
Organized by the Vivekananda International Foundation (VIF) in partnership with the AIDIA, the seminar emphasized India's development assistance to Nepal and the growing energy partnership, with Nepal’s hydropower exports rising from 39 MW to nearly 1,000 MW in three years, the press release said.
Cooperation for trade
Officials also discussed the trilateral power trade agreement involving India, Nepal, and Bangladesh, and underscored the potential for deeper collaboration in digital connectivity and regional integration.
According to the organizers, the Nepali delegation, led by AIDIA, also met Ambassador Dr Shankar Sharma and held discussions with industry representatives and academic institutions.
